Egg Hunt

After we, strike that I, de-thawed from the soccer game we came home and had our annual egg hunt. It lasted about 10 minutes, but the kids still had fun. I think the key is that each kid looks for a certain color of egg. That way they get the same amount and there is no fighting over the eggs.

Despite the cold Brynlee still insists on wearing dresses everday. Silly girl.

Easter Baskets and Freezing Soccer

The Easter bunny comes to our house on Saturday morning. We decided a few years ago that this enabled us to concentrated more on Christ on Sunday, but still be able to have candy and egg hunts on Saturday. So Saturday we got up and had fun digging through our baskets. Too bad the Easter bunny always seems to forget me, I thnk he seems to forget that we do this tradition on Saturday (it's only been the last 5 years). He brought Jeremy a shirt and some candy, but he must have left my stuff in his burough. I'll have to give him a friendly reminder next year.

Later in the morning we went to Price's soccer game. It wasn't too bad when we left the house, but his game was on the southwest side of town and it is always cold and windy there. So Jeremy and the girls sat in the van (he had shorts on) while I shivered and cheered on our soccer star.

What a dedicated mom I must be!

Dying Eggs

I broke down this year and actually let the kids dye Easter eggs. I know, living on the edge, right? There was of course a lot of supervision, but they still had fun doing them.
Luckily there were stickers to put on after the eggs dried so the kids were a little more hads on with that part.

Poor Kylee just got locked in her booster seat. She's still a little too menace-y to participate in messy projects.

On Saturday we took the eggs and had an "egg roll". We stole this fun tradition from a family in our ward. Basically you sit across from someone else and roll hardboiled eggs together. Which ever one doesn't crack is the winner. We had a bracket and had a little egg roll tourney. Brynlee was the grand champion. Then we made egg salad and had some sandwiches. Jeremy thought it was a lame activity, but the kids had a good time. And what else are we supposed to do with hardboiled eggs? Knowing our luck if we hid them outside we'd lose them and end up having a sticky mess later in the summer.

Bridal Shower/Bachelorette Party

Last night my friend Cody had her Bridal Shower and Bachelorette party. First, Jeremy and I and the kids got up and the crack of dawn and went down to the temple becasue it will be closed for the next 2 weeks. So it was a busy day and things from opposite ends of the spiritual spectrum.

The shower was pretty fun. We played some games and ate some food. One of her other bridesmaids made a really cute cake and it was fun to hang out with some fun girls.

We played the game where you wrap up someone in toilet paper and make it look like a wedding dress. It was fun and I laughed a lot. Most of the girls there were Cody's volleyball friends and they were really funny and it was a good time.

We asked Cody questions and she had to match the answer that Joe had already given and if she didn't she had to put a piece of bubble gum in her mouth. It was fun to watch and she ended up with a mouth full of gum.

After the shower was the Bachelorette party at Biaggi's. It's an Italian place that in my personal opinion is ok, but I like the salad and breadsticks at the Olive Garden much better. I will spare you the sordid details, but I did laugh and it was fun. But it really made me miss my "Bunco Babes". It's so nice to be able to have friends that have the same standards and be able to have a good time and laugh and eat not have to feel uncomfortable by the drinking and conversation.

I left and they were all headed out for a night of drinking on the party bus. Cody asked if I wanted to come too, but I didn't think that would be a very good place for me to be. Especially the next day when I'm teaching sharing time in Primary.

School Program

Price had a school program this last week. It was the Kindergarten through 3rd graders and they sang songs about making good choices and how it its up to them to do what is right. It was packed and we couldn't see Price very well, but the songs were cute and I think Price was excited for us to be there. I still don't feel weird going to school programs since I can remember putting them on for my parents when I was that age. But I guess that's how it goes.

Jeremy and Brynlee right before it started.

It's hard to see Price, but he's the kid in the red shirt with his arms up. He is forever doing some crazy pose for pictures. I guess that's a good thing when you're in a group this large.

After the program in his shirt. He looks so grown up here.

Going green

It seems lately that "being green" is the cool, hip thing to do. So that is what I consider that we are doing as a family. Being green sounds a whole lot better than the truth which is that we love a good rummage at the Goodwill. I don't know what the obsession with the Goodwill is lately for us, but we seem to go there quite frequently. Either to get rid of our old crap or to buy someone else's. Anyway a few weeks ago we were there and I saw a sewing maching that looked pretty good. I've been wanting one for awhile and talked Jeremy into getting it. It was in pretty good shape. It just needed a few screws tightened and some de-gunking, but other than that it has worked great.

I've been working on a few projects since then. Mostly mending rips and tears in our stuff, but I have found some things to make.

My mom gave me this dress last year, but it was a little too short and you know how that works in Sacrament meeting with 3 kids. Before I know it, it would be up around my waist. So I added the strip on the bottom and now it is the perfect length.

This month for Bunco the theme was "Service/Talent exchange". And as exciting as it would be for me to take someone to BodyPump or refer them to a good book I had to come up with something a little better. So I saw this cute bag in a book I was reading and decided to whip it up. It was pretty simple to make and turned out cute. I added the blingy buttons because the girl I made it for is a blingy type person (at least I think so).

Brynlee has been on a dress kick with all the nice weather we've been having. This particular one was made by Grandma Price (my mom) and she loved it. She had another one on that Jeremy said made her look Amish, but it was adorable. It had butterfly buttons and giant rickrack. It's great to have such a talented Granny.

Funny how life seems to fill up with this that and the other. We've been busy lately, but not with anything huge just the usual things of life. Price has started playing spring soccer and Jeremy is busy with work and Elder's Quorum stuff. I seem to run around trying to keep us all together.

This little girl loves her dad. She comes running every time he comes home.

Yesterday I watched her as she was looking at a picture of all of us on her blessing day. She was talking up a storm to it and and looking at it so intently. It was the cutest thing ever.

Jeremy's sister took her boyfriend up to Idaho last weekend to meet the family. Jer was talking to her last night about it and asked her "So, does he know I'm bald". I'm not sure how that relates to what he's like as a person, but apparently it's a big deal to him. I was trying to convince him that it is better to be a good person and a good friend than the amount of hair you have. His big thing is that whenever you see someone from your past you always make a comment like "She's really gained a lot of weight" or "He's lost a lot of hair". I guess I just have to shake my head and realize that's one of his crazy quirks.

I'm loving that the kids are getting older and more independent. Kylee loves books so it's nice when the other two can read them to her. It may only last for a moment but it is nice when they get along and don't argue or fight.

We tried some cute piggies on Kylee last week. They made her look so cute. They didn't last long, but it was adorable.

Kylee has been talking more and more lately. She says "snack" and sings "Miss Mary Mack, Mack Mack". But the cutest is when she says "knock, knock" like she's trying to tell a joke. Price and Brynlee are into telling jokes and she is just trying to be like them. It's been fun to watch her little personality come out more everyday.
