Putting on Shows

We've been busy lately. Running the kids around to their activities. Price started playing basketball last week. The gym was too small where he was practicing but I could hear him yelling to the other kids to pass the ball when he was open. It was too cute.
The girls have been putting on "shows" lately. They dress up and do a little dance. And they are so adorable.

Yesterday when I was picking up kids from school some idiot backed up into me. The passenger got out at first and walked over to the driver's side and was talking to whoever was driving. I was getting out some paper to get their info and write down their license plate number and waiting for the driver to get out and come appologize. Finally the girl comes over. She is freaking out saying she just got this truck and she doesn't have insurance. Blah, blah. Then I ask her who was driving and she tries to tell me that it was her. Yeah, right. I just saw you get out of the passenger side. Luckily there was a nice lady who saw it all and came over as a witness. I asked her if the girl was driving and she shook her head. So I charge up to the truck and confront the driver. In the car is this guy (with nasty rotten teeth) just chillin. I was so mad, I just lit into him. At first he's giving me lip, but then I tell him I'm calling the cops and all of the sudden he's falling all over himself to get on my good side.
Now, I have many pet peeves and annoyances (as Jeremy can attest to). And I've thought of catalogging them but I don't have that much time. But I have decided that my A-#1 is a wussy man. I cannot stand a guy that will just sit there and let his girlfriend take the fall for his stupidity. I don't care how minor it may be. Just thinking about it irks me. Chivalry is not dead in my book! Secretly I would think it was pretty awesome if Jeremy came to defend my honor. But that has nothing to do with this story.
Anyway, so the guy is like practically begging me to not call the cops and saying how we can just handle this between ourselves. Blah, blah. Couldn't see anything except all his nasty teeth.
So it ended with me telling him that he needs to be a man and not hide behind his girlfriend. To just be honest and do the right thing. It was so great. I dream about telling people off all the time, but it was really great to actually do it.

So I went home and called the cops, sorry meth mouth. But you were a little shady by staying in your car. I'm sure he has no license and a warrant, that's why he was cowering. So I called the police and they said I could file a report but there wasn't much they could do. Sure glad I'm seeing my tax dollars hard a work!
But it gets even better. This morning at drop off I see the same truck. Except now it doesn't have any license plates. Seriously, these people are so shady! But as you can see in the pic the damage wasn't too bad. I would have been totally ok if he had hurried and jumped out of his truck and come back and apologized. What irked me was his wussiness.
So that is the extent of the excitement in my life. Jeremy wants to call him and go meet with him and tell him it's all ok and then give him a pass along card. But then again would I expect anything else from Jer? gotta love him.

So watch out wussy men. I'm coming to yell at you if you don't stand up for your woman.

Winter Finally Came

Winter finally decided to come. We didn't get any snow until the middle of January. If every winter could be like this I wouldn't mind living here so much. Now I can hardly believe that January is almost over. Hopefully the nice weather will continue and Spring will come early.
When we finally did get snow Jeremy made Price and Bryn a little snow cave.

Brynlee has been complaining about sleeping in her bed so now we tell her she can either sleep in her bed or in the snow cave. Too bad she doesn't find this as funny as we do.
At work some of Jeremy's co-workers were telling him how their wives were complaining about their snowblowers not working. He being the comedian says "My wife has been complaining about her back hurting". Haha, so funny. Especially when he isn't the one shovelling the drive-way all the time. Luckily we have a great neighbor with a snowblower. He doe our sidewalk and all the snow by the street that the snowplows push aside. I will give it to Jer though; he has had to help out shovelling at the church. But it will be nice when the kids are older and can do it themselves.

New Year's and more

The holidays blurred by and it's already January and back to our normal, regular lives. Jeremy had the week between Christmas and New Year's off, but it went by so fast I don't know what we did really. We did go bowling a couple of times and ate at Wendy's (our usual Hodson family favorite activity). We were planning on going to the temple, but Jer hurt his knee playing church basketball. At least it was still December and we got the most from 2011's deductible.
We watched kids for a few of our friends. One couple went to the temple and another had a night away from kids. It was nice that our kids had someone to entertain them and therefore weren't bugging me to think of things for them to do.
We also saw a few movies too. Since we hardly ever watch movies we can watch old ones and they are like new releases for us. We saw Sherlock Homes, The Help and The Green Lantern.
We did splurge and take the kids to the movie one day. We had some movie money that needed to be used so we went with the Andersons and saw "The Adventures of Tintin". It was ok, but I wish something else had been at that theatre that we could have gone to instead. During the previews I kept thinking "these previews sure are inappropriate to be shown before this kids movie". Well, then the movie started and I thought "man, this new animation is so lifelike" (I'm real quick, if you couldn't tell already). Except it wasn't Tintin it was Mission Impossible. They had played the wrong movie in our theatre. At first I thought we went into the wrong theatre then I saw other families with kids and new it wasn't me. Thank goodness! Some dads ran out and soon we had the right movie playing.

We've also been on an organizing spree. Jeremy did the garage, the van and his closet. I've been cleaning out the kitchen, the kids rooms and the laundry room. It's nice to de-junk and get things a little more neat and tidy.

Brynlee has been on a kick for the past few weeks of watching 'The Man from Snowy River'. I just have to laugh at her. It is quite the random choice of movie, but she loves it. And who can blame her, Jim Craig was a hottie back then. And I love the part when he comes riding through, cracks his whip and goes down the mountain.

Kylee's imagination has been running wild lately. Yesterday I was changing her diaper and she was telling me how she didn't poop in her diaper, but a baby tiger did. She goes off on a long story about this baby tiger and where he lives and all about his family. It's so fun to see her thinking up things like that. She is a funny girl, and loves to tell jokes too.

Price and Jeremy are back to school and work and life is back to it's routine. Jeremy must be going through withdrawls. He has been a little sick the past few days, but I'm sure it's a reaction to being back to the grind.
