Lazy Sundays

With church at 1pm we get to have fun morning together as a family.

The girls made us some yummy chocolate chip pancakes
Price was being lazy and sleeping in.
I love lazy Sunday mornings where we can get our lessons ready, eat breakfast and spend time together as a family.

canoeing on the Wapsi

On Labor Day we went with 4 other families and went canoeing on the Wapsipinicon River.  It was so much fun.  We drove up to Central City and they took us on a school bus and dropped us off and we canoed back to Pinicon Ridge Park.  It took 4 1/2 hours and we canoed over 9 miles.  The river was really low so we had to be careful or we'd get stuck in a sand bar or high centered on a tree.  But we didn't have to worry about the kids floating away.

Jeremy had Price, and the two Hunger boys in his canoe.  He mostly sat back and told them when to paddle.  We would occasionally stop and let the kids play in the river.  It was such a relaxing day.  It was kind of cloudy and cool too.  Perfect canoe weather.

It really was so much fun, we will definitely have to go again next year.

The kids played hard and were exhausted by the time we were on our way home.
Jeremy is very excited to get his picture taken with me.

Misc happenings

The girls are so funny, they love to dress up and pretend they are the sister missionaries.  They go outside and ring the doorbell and pretend they are coming over for dinner and to teach us a message.  I'm so grateful that they have good examples of the sister missionaries in our ward.  I can't wait until they really do get to be 'Sister Hodson'.

We got to have Rick Hutson over for dinner the other night.  Jeremy knew his family when they lived in Texarkana.  He was working in town and called Jer so we got together.  We loving having visitors

Back to School

Since we moved this summer the kids are starting at a new school: Jackson Elementary.  This school has a little more parent involvement than Harrison.  But it will be a good change for the kids.  They have already made friends and are loving school.

Children's Museum

In our last few days of summer we went to the Children's Museum in Coralville.  We met up with some friends and had a great morning.  The girls flying a plane with Charlotte Woods
 Price making paper rockets
The museum is so much more fun now that they are old enough to go and play and don't need help doing things.  I love this stage; they can go play with their friends and I get to watch them have fun.

After the museum we went to Costco for lunch.  I miss our carefree summer days but it sure is nice having some quiet time during the day.

Soccer girl

Kylee started playing soccer this fall and she's really liking it.  She has a great coach who is so patient and they do some fun stuff.

Kylee really works hard and has done really well playing goalie.  Her friend Maggie Woods is on her team.
