Thanksgiving

Yet another fun and exciting Thanksgiving has come and gone. This year was especially great because the kids are all finally old enough to go and play and I could just lay on the couch and take a nap. It was heavenly!
We went to my sister's in Indiana because it just isn't Thanksgiving without the Williams! We left Wednesday afternoon.
Here is the whole gang sitting down to eat.

The food was great and it was fun to get away for a few days. I'm really lucky that we have such good family. I don't have to do squat and yet I get to eat a great meal and someone else does the dishes.
Here's the kids' table with Kylee, Brynlee and Rowen. I think Rowen likes the idea of his cousins coming, but after awhile they just annoy him and he can hardly wait for them to leave.

The kids took this picture of Jeremy and I just had to include it. This is what his face looks like when you try to talk to him during football.

We took some family pictures and I wanted to get some of the kids. They weren't cooperating too well and Kylee was in a bad mood. We did get a couple good ones (which this one obviously is not!)

I think this picture of Kylee sums up or trip. We ate, we played and we slept. A great trip!

Other highlights of our trip include:
- Playing football at the ISU stadium. The kids got to wear the real jerseys and after they got to keep some old jerseys, wristbands and gloves. Would have been even more fun if it hadn't been so frigid.
- Black Friday shopping. Well, technically we went to Wal-mart on Thursday. It wouldn't be Thanksgiving without a little Wally run. Then I went to Toys R Us and stood in line for over 2 hours. Yes a little crazy, but I scored some good stuff for the kids and for the Williams.
-Elly corrupting my kids with her singing of Ke$ha. You gotta love when you hear Brynlee singing "Wake up in the morning feeling like P. Diddy". Thanks Elle. And the boys teaching Price the "corndog". But technically they learned it from the Bennions so we'll just blame it on them.

We had a great time and love our Thanksgiving tradition. Thanks Williams fam!

I've been getting ready to leave this Thursday for a girls weekend with my sisters and mom. Price made a little note for me last night that says "Dear Mom XOXOXOXO Kiss Kiss Hug Hug I Love you. I want you to have a good trip. Please get canyd for me Brynlee Kylee. ant you can get something for you. You can get Dad something for him. Love Price". It just melted my heart and after a crazy, hectic day it was just what I needed. He is such a sweet boy.

Just hanging out

Sunday afternoons at our house mean naptime. The girls didn't want to take a nap so they just played in their room. I slept for a little bit, but then got up. Price and Jeremy both konked out and it was so funny to see them both in the exact same position.

My camera decided to erase our Halloween pictures so I did some retakes with the kids. Not as good as the originals, but at least we have something to remember Halloween by. Kylee is a ladybug, Price a cowboy and Brynlee is a Barbie princess.

I've been working on some Christmas stuff so I took the girls' yearly pictures. I think they turned out pretty good. It's pretty easy when you have such cuties to begin with.

Seems like time is flying lately. I guess we've been busy and suddenly November is half gone. We have been busy with Brynlee's dance, the Primary Sacrament Meeting Program, Relief Society meeting and activity. Jeremy has been busy with church stuff a few nights a week. Plus homework, piano and family togetherness.

Halloween

So it's been super busy lately with our ten million Halloween parties, 2 date nights and 2 sick kids. And I haven't made time to catch up the old blog. But today I had a spare moment and was going to post our Halloween pictures and my camera went on the fritz. Luckily it only ate my Halloween pictures and not anything more important. So I guess we won't be able to commemorate the kids' costumes. I may just have them dress up later and take a replacement picture.

Anyway, October has just sped on by. Before I knew it Halloween was less than a week away and we still hadn't gotten any pumpkins. So one day after school I took the kids out to the pumpkin patch and we got some pumpkins and squash. Nothing too exciting, but it got the job done. But I was feeling lazy so I just let the kids paint them rather than spending the time to carve them. I know I'm a horribly lazy mother. But I was able to wash the paint off of the pumpkins and now I can use them as my Thanksgiving decor. So maybe my double duty makes up for my being a mean mom. At least Jeremy appreciates my frugality.

Our first Halloween party was Trunk or Treat at the church. This one was probably the most successful with full costumes and make-up for the kids. And thankfully this year the trunk or treating was inside. I don't know why we haven't done this before, it was great. The kids played games, got their faces painted and had a great time. Then they walked all around the church getting candy. I didn't have to freeze and we all had fun.

The next night was Price's school carnival. It had some fun games, but my favorite part is that it's short and sweet and the kids have a good time. The only snag in the night was Price. He kept trying to climb the rock wall in the gym, but wouldn't listen when I told him no. Apparently he's on a bit of a defiant kick right now, he's been having trouble listening. But overall it was a fun night. We got prizes, cupcakes and got to hang out with our friends the Andersons.

The next night we actually splurged and got a babysitter. We had a dinner with 2 other couples and played cards. It was so nice to have a kidless dinner and to just enjoy some adult conversation. We need to do that more often, plus the food was so good. But Jeremy gets too distracted playing cards. There would be a lull and we'd wonder whose turn it was and everytime it was his. Poor guy can't multi-task too well.

On Saturday was the yearly 'Road Rally'. It's a scavenger hunt around the city. It used to be every year, but died out a couple of years ago. This was the first year to try to bring it back and we had a great time. We went with our friends the Andersons (yes 2 nights in a row we got a babysitter, it must be a record for us!). The theme was Harry Potter and we had so much fun. We only got stumped on 1 clue but we actually ended up winning! I won't tell you how many teams there were because that is a minor detail and taints the image of us being victorious (cough, three, cough). It was a fun night and I'm so glad we did it. Plus, the cake pops at the end were totally worth playing. They were so good, I kept thinking about them all the next day. But that's probably because it was fast Sunday. So next year we will be in charge of it, hopefully we can make it a fun night. This one was great and will be hard to top.

Finally Halloween came. I had just about enough Halloween by then, but luckily our kids are easy to please and don't need much candy. Price ended up going with our neighbor and her grandson. They were gone about an hour, but man he made a haul. The girls just went up and down our block and got enough for them to eat that night. Finally when Price came home we went over to our friend's, Cody and Joe's to see them. By then I was pooped and had had enough with this holiday. It drags on longer than Christmas. But the kids had fun and I've been trying to just let them eat their candy. Maybe then it'll be gone and I won't keep eating it myself.

Last week Price came down with a fever. I gave him some Tylenol, but the fever wasn't going down. So in the middle of the night on Monday morning I gave him some Ibuprofen. He woke up Monday with no fever, but a swollen face. Eek! I'm thinking now that he may be allergic to it. This happened when he was little, but we thought it was the anitbiotic, luckily he's feeling better and didn't go into anaphilactic shock in the night.

This week Brynlee came down with the mystery fever. She's feeling a lot better now, just tired. But she has always been our sleeper. She's the first to fall asleep and the last to wake up. It's been nice having her take a nap everyday, now if I can just convince Kylee that she still needs one. She just lays by her door crying my name until I come and get her, but then she falls asleep on the way home from picking up Price at school. Ahh, 2-year-olds, what to do?

So I reformatted my memory card and am hoping it won't destroy any more pictures. But to be safe I may go get a new one. Then I won't feel guilty losing pictures of the kids in their costumes again.
