Trip to Idaho and Utah

We just got back on Saturday from our yearly trek out to Utah and Idaho. We were gone for 2 1/2 weeks. It was fun to see all our family and friends, but it sure is nice to be back home.

On our way from Idaho to my family's reunion in Park City we stopped and saw my friend Kylee and her 2 little boys. We have been friends since birth and it's fun to see her and her boys. This is her son Jake with Price and Brynlee. If you knew Kylee or her bro Taylor when they were little you will know exactly what Jake looks and sounds like. It is so cute, he sure reminds me of all the fun we had riding our big wheels and playing on their swingset. And her little boy Alec is so sweet. They didn't know what to do with my two wild ones.
Price got to ride Grandpa Hodson's horse Jackson and he also got to ride on the tractor. He said he liked the tractor better, but that's just because we aren't big animal lovers at our house. Whenever the kids saw a cat or dog on our trip they totally freaked out. Eventually they got used to the cat at Jer's mom's house, but other than that they didn't want to go near the animals.

The highlight at Grandma Hodson's is to play Guitar Hero. Price would wait and wait for Uncle Rem to come over and put it on for him. He loves to play and dance along to the music. He and Taylee had a lot of fun playing.
All the Hodson cousins. I made 4th of July shirts for all the kids. Here they are enjoying popsicles and playing together. Price and Brynlee are on the left and Taylee and Trevin are on the right.
On the first day of the Price family reunion we went and walked through the new Oquirrh Mountain temple. It was so beautiful and the kids did really well except for the cookie meltdown Brynlee had in the sealing room, but luckily by then the tour was almost over. The houses around the temple are beautiful too. I would love to live out there.

Other highlights of our trip include:
  • A fun day at Rigby Lake. If you're from Idaho you know how exciting that is.
  • Pizza and games at Leo's.
  • All of Artice's outdoor furniture getting stolen. Even the $5 lawn chair.
  • Going to the Idaho Falls Zoo.
  • Visiting the Olympic Park in Park City and seeing all the Freestyle and Alpine jumpers.
  • Swimming and playing with cousins and friends.
  • And of course having cheese fries and fry sauce.

It was a fun vacation, but now I just need another week of rest to recover. Luckily I didn't go into labor while we were away (that is always my fear). We are glad we got to see so much family!! See you all again next year!

Glad to hear that you've been away and busy. I was starting to worry because I hadn't heard anything for so long. Sounds like a full trip. I totally understand the needing a vacation from the vacation thing. I took the kids by myself for 2 weeks for a little time at my mom's and a week long family reunion in TN. I will never do that much w/o Haldan ever again!! Lesson learned.
