Back to School!

The kids are back in School!  Wahoo!  Brynlee is in 1st grade and her teacher is Mrs. Storey.  She is loving it.  She got to bring a reading buddy home which is a big stuffed bunny and she reads to it.  She got her hair chopped off at our 'Back to School Bonanza'.  She looks so much older.  it's been a hard transition going back to school, but she loves it and is doing well.
Kylee started preschool the week after the other two started.  She is liking it.  After the 1st day she said she didn't want to go back, but I'm sure it's hard not to be the ruler of all when she is at school.  but she really does like it.  Her teacher is Miss Mary Aull.
Wild and crazy Price is in 3rd grade.  His teacher is Mrs. Strang.  He insists on gelling his hair every morning.  It's weird to see him concerned about how he looks and actually trying to look good each day.  He is silly as usual, but loving math and school.
My favorite thing about school this year is that I get to dump all the kids at the curb.  The older 2 get themselves into school and Kylee's teacher comes and gets her out of the van for school and puts her back in at the end of the day.  I love it.
I also love having a few hours a day to myself.  I've watched a movie, gone grocery shopping and to the library so far.  It's nice.  But I do miss their chaos and I love hearing all about their days.

Random Pics

We survived the summer.  Kinnick loves to snuggle on the couch.  This is me taking a nap and he loves to be on my lap.  He's a good little dog, despite what Jeremy says
Brynlee loves her missing teeth.  I seem to find lots of selfies from her.  But how can she resist with such a cute little face.
I loved this pic of Kylee and Kinnick.  Anytime you lay on the couch he has to keep you company.
In other news, we've decided to sell our house.  We are wanting to move to something bigger with more bathrooms.  But we've only had a couple of showings so we'll see what happens.

A few weeks ago Jeremy ran in a 5k race out in Palo.  His goal is to get under 20min.  I say he got it, but he doesn't think he has.  He got 20:15.  So I guess he still has some work to do.

yesterday I was able to do a 5k with one of my Livestrong participants.  She ran for part of it, but she completed it faster than she thought.  it was fun to watch someone make a goal and then get to be with them when they achieved it.

Nauvoo Pageant

We decided to go to the last night of the Nauvoo Pageant this year.  It's nice that the kids are old enough to go and have fun and not be so high maintenance.  We had fun playing at the country faire before.  We tried the stilts, handcart pulling, games, puppets, food.  Plus the pageant is always so good.
I forget where we were going, but Price insisted in dressing up just like Jeremy.  I love these twinner boys.

Brynlee turns 6!

Brynlee turned 6 at the end of July.  For her birthday we had friends come play at the park and we played games, ate cupcakes and played on the splash pad.  For her birthday she got some sparkly shoes, school clothes, a Barbie and other fun stuff that we can't remember (shame on me for taking so long to post)

We also went to Pizza Ranch which is a pizza buffet.  We took Gena and the kids and went on Kids' Night.  It was packed, but the kids got to have their faces painted and eat lots of yummy food.  They even got to see the kid at the next table puke.  wahoo!
We love our big 6 year-old Brynlee!

Livestrong

At the end of July we finished up another great session of Livestrong at the YMCA.  We had a great group and they accomplished so much.  I am so grateful to be a part of this program and for all that I learn from the participants.  They truly are amazing and brighten my day and lift me up whenever I'm around them.  They have all been through so much and yet are so upbeat and optimistic.

More Utah

The girls loved playing with Sadie. She would do their hair, play school with them and just be a cute older cousin.  They think (and so do I) that she is the cutest and best!
The highlight of our Utah trip was Brynlee losing 2 teeth.  It was a dream come true.  She let me wiggle them and pull them out without even flinching.  I think she really wanted the $ from the tooth fairy.
We were also able to go and tour the Utah State Capitol building.  It was really neat, despite the kids being wild.  And you gotta love the air conditioning too.

Fun with Cousins in Utah

Between busy-ness, laziness and blogger not cooperating I have been slow to finish posting about our summer.
We went to Utah and saw my sister and her kids.  It was so fun for them to have kids to play with and run wild.  It was great to see my sister too; we went walking each morning in City Creek Canyon-it was so beautiful and peaceful.

We were able to go see the parade preview for the 24th of July parade.  The floats were so cool and the kids had fun getting their faces painted.

After the parade preview we went over to a sporting goods store (I forget which one) and rode the Ferris Wheel and walked around the store.  They had these displays where you could climb on them and get pictures taken.  The favorite was probably the skunk one and Carson kept picking up the stuffed skunk and petting it.
Then we headed over to Costco for dinner stuff and the girls conned me into getting them some school clothes.  But on the way home this is what I saw.  And it was all worth it.
Despite the weather being super hot, it was a fun time to be able to see a lot of our family.  The highlights include Grandpa Price yelling at the kids to close the door every 2 seconds and the mini Fat Boys that we ate at any and all moments of the day.  We're sad my parents won't be in Salt Lake next year when we got out to Idaho. We will miss being able to see them all on one trip.
